Kaumudi
The full moon night of the month of Ashwin is known as the Sharad Poornima or Ras Poornima. It is called as Sharad Poornima because the month of Ashwin falls in Sharad Ritu, one of the six ritus as per the Hindu calendar. Mythology states that this is the night when Krishna would play the Ras Leela the entire night.
It is believed that on this night, the moon emits an aura of peace and purity. It is popular belief that absorbing this important moonlight on this night makes the mind peaceful and helps in reducing the pitt (acidity).
We produced a music concert for this auspicious occasion, featuring the famous duo of Rahul Deshpande & Anand Bhate, the leading faces of Indian Classical Music.
